Actually going from a cursed Subaru WRX to a great 07 GMC Truck and maybe on to a CT. It is all going to depend on my test drive on Sunday. The car I will test drive actually has everything I want except the remote start. Bummer for them, they may have had a sale. Although not sure they'll care for selling a car to me.

I used to be a car sales person, so I am very picky about my test drives. Once around the block or on and off the freeway doesn't work. The esc/tcs on my mom's 05 Prius annoys me on acceleration, I know it gets set back on sport mode in the CT, any issues?

I know I won't get the acceleration of my Subie but if the handling will at least amuse me that may make the sale. A 300 mile round trip may be a regular occurrence 2-3 per month now so I don't think the truck is a good choice for this. 16 mpg! $100 per tank, it is now costing me $400-$500 per month in gas and will only get worse.

I know I can't stand the Prii. Have something against Kia's and Hyundai's and swore I'd never buy a Honda Civic. After riding in my cousin's Insight, decided that wouldn't work either.

Being a big fan of hatchback/wagons helps too.

Maybe some Sacramento area CT fans here?

I have to say if anybody ever gets laid off and needs temporary work it's a great learning experience. I only lasted a year due to honesty. They just wanted me to put up way too much BS. I refused. But it was decent money, learn the tricks of the trade and now I know how to save money on every car purchase. And if you ever decide to try, do NOT work at a Toyota or Honda dealership.

My CT in my opinion handled as well as my 97 BMW Z3. I tested drove the CT at the end of March at Lexus of Sacramento with John D. as my salesman and was impressed with the handling. I ordered my CT and finally arrived 7/10/11. I tested drove a Prius in 2009 and was not impressed with the car. I'm getting 41mpg average so far with 900mi on my CT odometer and will probably average 45-50mpg after 5-15k mi on the odometer. I paid $33 for 359mi the last 2 tanks of regular fuel! My IS gas bill was $56. You will not be disappointed!!

I'm in the Fresno area close to Sacramento. I know what you mean about gas prices and the truck, I used to have a chevy silverado 2500 diesel and it was costing me $160.00 every 4-5 days when gas prices were up about three years ago. I got a ford fusion and never really liked it (I'm a chevy girl). So now I have the CT, still getting used to it. Overall I think I like it and I really like spending $30 to fill up rather then $160. I like the CT even more than my Z3. Of course, I only had the 4 cylinder model in 1996, but it was roughly the same horsepower as my CT (138 for the Z3 vs. 136), and the CT feels somehow both zippier and smoother. Also nicer interior, more room, back window you can see out of ...but I still loved that Z3. I'm just loving this more.

My wife's father was a car dealer for over 30 years, and her first job was in the parts department. In our case with the CT, though, there was no negotiation to speak of. There were precisely three units that rolled off the boat. Two of those sold on the first day, and the second one was ours. The dealer didn't have any incentive to deal. The price was the price.

Which was the same case with the Z3, actually.

There are other cars we've bought where we did better than sticker on the price, for exactly the reasons you might suspect...but I have to confess, I like the trend of not negotiating I've seen with other cars of late. I'd rather not start a relationship by trying to put one over on each other. Best to keep the nonsense out of the way, and get to the good stuff as quickly as possible.

Worked especially well when getting underway with the daughter of a car dealer, too.
