I ran into a really odd problem... I was going through a speaker upgrade and noticed that the stock LHS (drivers side) 6x9 was not creating nearly as much base as the passenger side. I figured this was even more reason to switch out the speakers for new ones, but even the new ones (infinity ref) produce no where near as much base on the LHS.

then things got really weird... the base on the LHS intermittently turns on and off! It doesn't appear to be a connection problem as the rest of the speaker range works just fine at all volumes (I checked with the door panel off, the 6x9 is definitely working. Anyone have any idea what I going on?

Can't say I noticed that issue when upgrading my speakers. The dash and front door speaker signal goes through a signal splitter that sends part of the signal to the dash, and part to the front door depending on the frequency content. Maybe that signal splitting device is bad on your car? Honestly I really have no idea though.
