August Dealer Allocations?

I have the same feeling and I am waiting for their call too.
I got the call today, my CT arrived and will be prepped and ready for pickup tomorrow afternoon. It was a bit of a surprise. I ordered April 16th and about a month ago I was given the VIN and told to expect arrival early September. About two weeks ago I called to check on status and they told me it was expected to arrive early, maybe Mid August. Nice surprise, but I have to say that I have not been impressed with my local dealership. The only time I got any information was when I called them. They never once called me to update me on the order status. Oh well, the car is finally here, after about 3-1/2 months.
Congrats tchris, I hope you enjoy your new ride. I was patient enough to wait until yesterday to call my dealer. He told me that they would get the allocation call today due to the month ending on a Sunday but that I should expect a call by 10:30 am this morning. I called him at 2 pm after hearing nothing and heard a different story, no allocations of the specific color (fire agate) in our region...I wish I could understand the process a little more since I thought when I placed a custom order on 5/5 (I know a lot more people have been waiting longer) that I would get placed on some production list somewhere, not in a lottery pool of potential cars by region??? That is the most frustrating part, and also similar to your scenario - no calls from my dealer in 3 months, only the ones I've made.

Got the call last night...
Been waiting since early April. Got the call last night. Should be here within several weeks. Got the VIN and other info.

You better make sure you have a custom order in. It was not until July that Lexus reopened the custom order process.
Not all areas of the country get all color combinations. If your area of the country regularly gets your combo, then you are probably ok. If not you will either need a special order placed or you will have to wait until inventory is high enough so that dealers can begin to trade.
Another option is to find your combo in another area of the country and go get it or have it shipped.
I don't know why Lexus has chosen this method if distribution.
I think you are on to something Dirvin and I will have a chat with my dealer tomorrow or Monday. However, if as you mentioned that custom orders were not possible until July, I'd be somewhat resetting the clock after three months in. I told my dealer in May that I wasn't in a hurry but that I was also very particular so I preferred a custom order. It would have been nice for the dealer to tell me that custom orders weren't available so I would know that my wait would be filled with total confusion...not a hurry but some idea of when would be nice.

I placed and order for a CT with PCS in July. Got a call today from my dealer today. Car listed in allocation has everything I want EXCEPT PCS. I use the DRCC on my Prius all the time and had a bad accident while driving the Prius (guy ran a red light) so PCS is an additional safety feature I would appreciate. Anyone have PCS and can offer an opinion?

My August allocation CT came in --sweet
My CT was slated for August 10-15 and came in early. I picked it up today. It is even better than I thought it would be.
Matador Red Mica with Black Nuluxe and Nav -- I like the Nav, adapted to the mouse like a duck to water.

I placed my order at the exact time you did. At least my dealer was knowledgeable enough to tell me that one, custom orders had just been put on hold and two the color interior I wanted had never been released in our area.
He dropped the ball on communication after he took my deposit. I had to call the sales manager to find out what was going on with my order. I opted to wait on a 2012 since I wasn't going to get my color any way in the 2011 models. He said my order had been placed and confirmed and would begin production when the new model year production began. He said the change would happen in July. Andy confirmed end of July production changeover. That was July 2nd, haven't heard a word from him since.
Finally spoke to my dealer this afternoon, feel like he doesn't want to talk to me unless he has good news. He recommended against putting in an order for 2012 only because he thinks he'll still be able to get a 2011 model sooner. I don't know what to do. I don't want to wait until the end of the year or early next year but I don't want to be at the same point then that I am now either. I also don't want to settle for a different color or option package.

No. We never even discussed pricing. I figured we would do that dance when the car came in. If stock is more plentiful then my position will be better.
