2011 CT200h with 100k miles.

So here's the issue... The HVAC unit stopped blowing cold air after replacing the heater core unit (dash disassembled) and the A/C compressor is not running.

All fuses and relays have been checked.

Held down the climate control system ''AUTO'' and ''FRESH/RECIRC'' buttons and code number 23 came up.

I've also scanned the ECU for trouble codes:

- U0164 ''Lost communication with HVAC Control Module''.

Appriciate your input regarding the above issue before going to the repair shop ''gussing work''.

Yeah, had to replace the AC compressor unit because of a broken pin in the red-circled area. I'm guessing the broken pin was messing up with the signal between the control module and the AC compressor.

Thanks for reply my buttons are not doing anything and the display only shows the time also the outside temp just say E. Was yours the same or different?

Pretty much the same. Would start by checking the AC amplifier assembly and the wiring to the AC compressor.
