30,000 mile service..brake fluid?

My 2012 CT200h is due for 30,000 mile service soon. The manual says oil change & brake fluid change only. I did change the air filter & cabin filter every 10,000 miles, a 10 min. job. I got the synthetic motor oil & oil filter and will have my local mechanic do it. Now, the brake fluid looks pretty clean, almost looks brand new. WHY would Lexus recommend brake fluid change at 30000 miles??? Any catch? My local mechanic said it's a waste of money and no brake fluid service is required till 10k miles. Do you guys change the brake fluid on your CT at 30,000 miles?

I'm at 70,000 miles and have never changed my brake fluid.

That's what I thought and the mechanic recommended brake fluid flush at 100k miles unless they get dirty earlier and this guy serviced most of my cars for the last 20 years. Is there something special about Hybrid cars that Lexus recommended brake fluid change at 30k miles?

The only thing different that I'm aware of is the fact that we use our hydraulic brakes far less than a conventional car. Most braking is done with the hybrid motor. That's why brake pads will easily last 100k on our cars.

Brake fluid absorbs moisture from
Air .eventually the water will destroy you calipers.
It will be a costly matter.
Don't ignore the manufacturer instructions.
At 100k miles and never change brake fluid, just get a brake fluid tester pen
As long as tester says water content is below 2%, and your fluid is still golden color, you should be good.
