Hi all, I apologize in advance if this is something that gets asked a lot. I checked through a few sections and saw something similar but not quite what I was looking for?

Going to look at possibly trading in my CR-V for a CT200h this weekend. I'm no expert on these cars but I've had my eye on them for a while. It's fairly new being a 2017 and less than 40k miles on it. Just wanted to know what if anything I should be looking for specifically on these that could be not immediately obviously wrong with it. I know from buying a gen 1 Prius in the past to use the Dr Prius app to check the hybrid battery status, is that something even worth checking on a car this new? Is this possibly a known bad year or anything?

Any help would be greatly appreciated for this perspective buyer.

Other than all the usual checklist items for buying any car, it's not a bad idea to check with the Dr Prius app. Also, start the engine from full cold and make sure it's smooth as butter. Best of luck!

Smooth acceleration from standstill or from low speeds when engine restarts.

2017 so likely not plagued by potential head gasket or EGR valve issues.

I bought a used '12 from a friend early 2020 and neither of those issues are present. No oil consumption or coolant leak. No jarring vibrations.

I think the issues are overstated online TBH. They happen but to a small percentage of cars.

Well, that 2017 got away from me, but today I successfully purchased a 2015 CT200h, this one has factory nav as well which is pretty nice.
