Hi everyone! Just got my "sexy Lexy" 3 weeks ago and I'm in love! I wanted to clean the hybrid battery Air filter and noticed mine didn't have the mesh behind it. Is a mesh filter needed? Any info is appreciated!

My 2016 F Sport, bought a year and 9 months ago, did not have a mesh either.

I left it as it was. The grille was perfectly clean. My car only had about 51000 mi. when I bought it. It is a magnificent car!
