When I push the button, the ignition lights come on but it wont recognise that Im trying to put it in gear.
I have to push the button again sometimes and it will work, or hold it down (because it wont turn off with a regular press).
I then have to keep trying this cycling of button presses, until it recognises that I'm trying to get it in gear.
I've noticed this and other small electrical issues going on and increasing in frequency since owning it.
Im the 3rd owner. The first owner sold it the same year it was made 2013, and my friend bought it that year and owned it till late 2022 when I bought it from him.
His cousin is (USA) master tech for Toyota/Lexus and he had him meticulously maintain it its entire life.
Although the oil was done every 3000mi or 5000mi MAX, its starting to use a bit of oil at this point (168xxx miles) but they claim these engines and transmissions can get 300,000 miles.
I just found this write-up from another thread claiming it could be the 12v battery....
I might need to go clear my trunk out and get the battery load-tested.
I'm an Electrician by trade and a mechanic so I just need to get pointed in the right direction to not waste my time with it all
