There is nothing set in stone on what models and when they will be produced as a 2012 model. Perfect example, the 2011 HS250h is just now hitting the stores..
Yeah I was going to say same thing about HS250h, how they are projected to drop this month at dealerships, I think Hybrids are on a different schedule then normal cars, so with this car just being released we shouldn't see the 2012 till this time next year.
If the 2012 CT doesn't come out until after the first of the year that would be a good thing for us.
Right, it doesn't make logical sense for them to cut the lifecycle of the 2011 CT in half by six months by releasing the 2012 in Sept./October. However, it seems like everyone else on the forum seems to think that is the case. Am I missing something here?

Guess the joke would be on us then... I was disappointed as there were rumors that Lexus was going to introduce the CT as a 2012 from the start and when I went in I saw it was a 2011 :(. But I agree it doesn't make sense for them to start introducing the 2012's till late in 2011 or early 2012 when this was just arrived in the show rooms in mid March.
I was told by my dealer today that my car will be arriving in Canada in mid October, It will be a 2012 model.
I don't see any changes coming for the 2012 CT200h. Due to the earthquake the supply of 2011 models plummeted. Parts suppliers took the major hit. The last thing the designers are going to do is start with major design changes to the car. They are working hard just to fulfill the original targets. Maybe a color or 2 change but the car fundamentals should remain the same for a few years. Most Japanese cars have 5 year life cycle between major changes, and minor refinements in between. it will take a couple of years to get production back to pre Tsunami levels. A large part of the country got completely destroyed.

I wouldn't be too picky about every little detail and getting a custom vehicle. But that's up to you. Basically it comes down to a car with the Navigation system or one without. You can live with most everything else, except maybe that yellow color.

I bought mine a week after the earthquake from the dealer inventory as the devastation appeared very grim for regular car shipments and custom orders.

After 3 months I am very happy with the car. Mileage is close to 50 mpg. Car is very responsive. Nice sound. Sporty looking. Not a stodgy hybrid at all.

Starfire Pearl, Navigation, Nulux Black interior, Premium sound.

Same here rehabmax. I got mine a week after the earthquake. Haven't looked back since.

How reliable are dealers in Canada? It's really hit or miss here in CA. Most dealers have no clue what they're talking about unless the car is in the database with a VIN. David, did you get a confirmation with VIN and car window sticker printout?
No I did not get the VIN # Nor did I get the car window sticker printout. The dealer told me that I will get the VIN # only when the car ships to Canada.

I've found, after many years and trades, that most sales people know little above the basics about what they are selling. I ususally have more current information, including available features then the dealers sales staff have. This may be one reason why a local dealer was hoping I was layed off after a publiced article on our company haviing a large layoff. He wanted me to join his sales staff and it's an open offer.
