Just curious. My coworker just replaced the battery in her Prius after 4 years. Is that typical?

Sounds just about right...for most cars that is. They will usually tell you "5 years" (for most became batteries) but that can vary on the vehicle and/or battery used.

Thanks. My other cars have lasted 3-4 years in Florida heat. Didn't know if it made a difference being a hybrid.

I was on year 6 before I voluntarily replaced the auxiliary battery. I probably didn’t need to and could have kept the OEM Panasonic battery until current date. Vehicle is driven daily and stored in the garage overnight so it only endures extreme temperatures during the day while at work.
