Since the update...problems with new posts

Prior to the update, I've always read the forum via the active topic route. Since the update, the active topic section no longer shows a difference in read vs unread posts.

If I enter each forum individually, ie. general discussion, then engine and tech, etc there is a clear distinction between read vs unread posts. It was much easier before to quickly find unread posts across all forums using the active topic link.

Am I missing something? Ive just about given up reading the forum since the update.

I agree with Dirvin and others, the new navigation is not as good. There is no "Active Topics" and sometimes when you view some threads in "New Posts" others that you haven't read seem to go away.

And sometimes the "Forum Threads" box is visible and sometimes it is not ??

To find an view threads you have to many times go back to "Forums" and list individual thread topics; I end up only looking at a couple.

Dirvin and others have mentioned, they can tell read from unread. I can see the pale red icon which turns gray when you read the thread, but I am not sure what constitutes reading, because many times I read a thread an it stays pale red, meaning "unread"

Summary - I like the faster speed ( sometimes posting is still slow), but the navigation of new and/or active posts is not as good .

Just noticed something. Reading the forums one at a time ie.general discussion, etc. new threads are a different color, as before. But using the active topics link (to the right of the page in the sight navigation box). New posts have a double down arrow button. They are all the same color and all bold.

At least I think that's what the arrow symbol is.....it goes away when you mark all forums read. As always, I seem to need to hit the active topics link after each reading. The back button does not mark a thread as read.

Anybody know how to expand The box when posting so you can see the entire thing?

Used to always browse easily through active topics, now it just becomes more of a hassle.

I've been reading from the home page, if you scroll down past the news, I think it shows new threads.

Hi there, are you asking about expanding the reply box?

But yea the New Post/What's New links will show you the new posts and where as the Active Topics (located on the right side, in the Site Navigation box) will show you everything. There is also an Icon Legend at the bottom of the forum home page that will tell you what the colours and icons mean.

Thanks! Please feel free to let me know any other questions or concerns.

Yes, I was asking about expanding the reply box. There used to be a set of up/down arrows to scroll your text as you made a reply. I do my reading on an iPad so this may not be an issue for all.

Oh okay I see. Right on the bottom right corner of the reply box there should be "Drag to resize" option and then you can drag the size of the box up and down. Hope that helps

That doesn't work on an iPad.
