    Greetings

Hi, everyone. Just got my first Lexus, the CT200h. I drive 65 miles to work each day, so decided the hybrid made more sense than a regular Lexus that gets about 27 highway.

I test drove many vehicles this time, including the VW Jetta TDI, but after going to the Lexus dealer, any thoughts of buying anything other than a Lexus were out the window.

I have never had a more pleasant car buying experience and any of the Lexus models I test drove were far more comfortable than anything else I tested. At my age that makes a big difference.

I was really torn between the ES 350 and the CT200h, but in the end as I said the gas mileage differential made my decision for me.

Took me 35 years to get here, but I think it will be worth the wait - seems like a really fine car.

One question (and I will do a search here if nobody knows the answer off the top of their head) - how do you reset the average fuel economy number that shows up in the multi-information display?

I could not find anything in the owner's manual about this particular display other than some vague reference about it changing after you fill up the car (which I have not done yet - ).

Does it just take whatever the current multi-information average value is (the one where the multi-information display just shows average mpg) at the time you fill up and use that so no reset is required?

I cleared all the other fuel data from the energy portion of the nav system, but that did not seem to affect it.

At any rate, I look forward to learning a lot about my new car here.

    Bob

Hi Bob - welcome to the CT and the forum

MPG meter - there's 2 different ones on the multifunction display. The first one is the one with a petrol pump sign on it and it also has a horizontal bar which shows your instantaneous MPG. This one resets when you do a fill up with fuel.

The second one is the one what just says "AVG xx.x mpg" (or l/m). You reset this one by first selecting it and then holding the DISP button down until it resets (>1 sec). This will also start a new bar off on the Past Record screen in the nav display. I'm currently resetting this once a month.

Looks like you've gone Lexus CT for the same reason as me, it's just far high quality inside than anything I've had before. The Puma had the interior design, the Rover had the seats (and a crappy interior), the Lexus puts everything together and adds toys .

It took more than a single dealer visit for me, I got convinced by Feisty Lexus Lady at Bristol Motor Show

Thanks for the quick reply Pete. The first one is the one I am talking about. Guess they were serious about it resetting when you fill up.

After a long day of test driving, my back convinced me after sitting in the first Lexus test vehicle...
