2012 Nebula Gray Perl - Road noise?

Just got it! Loaded, Leather, nav & Lights. Love it so far, first tank I got 42, second tank 44. I hope when the weather warms up in Denver it will keep getting better.

The only problem that I have with the car is the excessive amount of road noise. Anyone else notice it? The engine noise and wind noise level are both excellent. Perhaps that just makes the road noise more intrusive?

I think the road noise is very road surface dependent ... Wasn't noticing that much road noise on my long trip today (in the moments where TuneIn Radio was out of signal for long enough it ran out of cricket commentary from its buffer ) but then I was on decent quality motorway for most of the time.

But - on the trip I do to my parents, the road surface can vary hugely. It can go to quiet road (at 70mph) to road noise loud enough to give the radio good competition.

Could be roads, could be the low rolling resistance tyres making extra noise.

Odd, I don't really notice a lot of road noise.
Did you put winter tires on the car?

I have factory tires on the car. My 4Runner has more wind noise, but overall on most road surfaces, I would say the 4Runner is much more quiet than the Lexus. (2003 4Runner Limited, Same tires as stock).

Except for the noise, I am still very happy with the car.

These things can be quite subjective I suppose.

Road noise in the CT seems mostly due to the road surface, and some tyres can be quieter than others (as is the case with most cars). It's very subjective, but overall I find the CT is satisfactory at a minimum, and often quieter than most.
