Hey buddy,

Coilovers will always ride worse than springs when lowered all the way down, which is what most people get coilovers for, to slam the car lower than what springs can provide and/or to provide a more sporty feel to the suspension.

I'm assuming the coils will ride better at the same exact height as the lowering springs, but with potholes in NY, you're kinda outta luck. It will only be marginally better.
