If it's anything like the one on the Lexus HS 250h, it controls more than the GPS/navigation, and it's quite intuitive and user-friendly.

In designing their system, I wonder if Toyota researched and took note of the lambasting BMW got for their 2001 groundbreaking (but difficult to use) similiar iDrive.

Although the latest version is much improved, indications are that iDrive still isn't as easy to use as it might be. Most reviews still recommend getting a BMW without it if possible.

I'd certainly say so. Automotive journalists' reviews of Lexus' Remote Touch (which is currently used on Lexus' 3rd-generation RX, HS, LFA and CT) are generally far more favorable than reviews for iDrive.

    Rear Seats Fold Down?

Do the rear seats fold down so you have one medium sized cargo space with no "upper seat back, side-to-side divider" remaining which inhibits loading medium sized objects?

If my above question is not making sense, with the rear seats down, is there one good-sized contiguous space -- like my Acura Integra, or is the space between the "trunk" and the area created by lowering down the rear seats "partially blocked" like it is the BMW 335 and the 350Z please?

Perhaps someone has a picture from the back with the hatch up and the rear seats folded down??

    Thank you.

Given that it's a front-wheel-drive hatchback, I'd expect a fairly broad and wide and uninterrupted expanse when the rear seat is folded down.

Having said that, bear in mind that the bulkier hybrid battery pack and mechanicals lurking in the floor underneath the cargo area may affect your definition of a wide-open, unimpeded cargo area.

Just need it to control the little ones in the back and I would be all set!
