Just ordered the illuminated shifter for my wife's car. Less than $100 inc. shipping on eBay.

    hey chris and chunky,

I just got mine but I have a question. How long did you guys charge it for and did the blinking light (every 7-10 seconds) when its plugged in, turn off? Ive been charging for like 30 minutes and just don't want to overcharge it due to the warning that came with the instructions. thanks

Pardon the interruption. I know this is a thread about looks not function, but as an old guy who has been driving for over 60 years, I have to smile when I see how little the vocabulary changes to keep up with the changes in the vehicle. It's not a gear shift lever. It's essentially a switch. I guess you could call it a "Direction Shifter," but that wouldn't account for the brake assist. I hope that at least one of you finds that interesting.

Sorry for the interuption. I know that this is a thread about looks, not function, but as an old guy who has been driving for over 60 years I have to smile to see how the vocabulary doesn't change to match the mechanical changes. It's not a gear shifter. It's essentially a switch. I guess you could call it a "Direction shifter," but that wouldn't account for the brake assist.

Not sure on the charge up time....I only have short Journeys and left mine plugged in for a few days, and yes it continued to blink away to itself. Now gone 3 weeks at least unplugged & still lighting up.
I thought maybe it just blinks when its charging period, wasnt sure if it stopped when full or just continues permanantly to signify its plugged in...sorrymaybe someone else can answer this

I ended up charging for a combined 2 hours (30 minutes to work, 30 minutes back and repeat next day) and the blinking still didn't stop. The manufacturer states that the blinking light should turn off but I ended up just taking the plug out.

I would have been ok with a set of buttons... without the "shifter"... Good point canvecchio!
