I have an iPhone. When I was using the key fob, there were no prob even when the key fob and the phone in the same pocket. Now I have a card key kept in the wallet. No prob with that either.

So we can get a better idea of which phone can cause a problem. Do you have an iPhone 3 or 4?

I have the 4 which has a glass front and back (very little shielding) and the phone definitely blocks the fob signal when the two items are in the same pocket.

The iPhone 3 has a metal back and may provide more shielding from inference .

I have tried iPhone 3G and iPhone 4 and both were fine. I even put the key sandwiched in between them and it was working fine.

I can only report my personal experience. If I place my iPhone 4 on top of my laptop in its docking station the computer crashes. I must have a "leaky" phone.

Okay... if I were you I wouldn't put your iPhone in your pocket. You may want to have it checked out! It sounds dangerous

Here we go again... another "Antanna Gate" type problem. I hope apple has a good solution this time...Just kiddiing.

Joking aside. It does sound dangerous. If you can reporoduce the crash, I would contact apple and get a brand new phone.
