I have some hope to offer to all who have had this problem. I reported this to my dealer (Lexus of North Miami) a couple of days ago, after it did it again with my new IPhone. I then reported what IS250 posted about the ability to replicate the problem and that I had found that to be true. Tonight I got a call from my salesman who said his Service Manager had called Japan and spoke to the head bluetooth guy who told him that this was NOT the first time that they had heard this and that they were working on a software solution between Toyota and Apple and they expected to have a fix "soon" and that it could probably be flashed to the car or the phone.
That is the first indication that I have had that this wasn't a figment of my imagination. I will also post this in the thread I started a few days ago. Thanks to all for your input and keep complaining to the dealers, it might help and couldn't hurt.
I'm told that the CT200h doesn't have a hard-drive. Does anyone know how and where contact data is stored?
By the way, the other issue that I've reported is where an incoming call is received from a stored contact and the contact name is not displayed.
In my iPhone I store all my contact numbers prefixed with the plus sign and country code (e.g. +61.....) As I travel overseas a fair bit it's really convenient to store numbers in the manner so as to not have to worry about what the local international dialling code is wherever I am or more importantly, not have to re-enter the numbers stored in the phone. Of course when the numbers are downloaded to the car they're stored in the same manner, i.e. +61.... .
On an incoming call my iPhone will display the correct contact name but it isn't displayed on the car's screen. The only way I can get the car to display the name of the caller is to edit the contact stored in the car and remove the plus sign & country code....this is a real PITA!
It would be nice if someone there in the US can test this out and confirm it for me. All you need to do is take one of your regular stored contacts in the car that might be in the form of area code+number and change it to +1+area code+number, e.g. 5551234567 to +15551234567 .
Hi I noticed exactly the same problem when I upgraded my 3GS to iOS 5 and subsequently when I purchased my 4S. There were no problems with iOS 4x. Like yourself, I had to remove the '+44' country code otherwise the car wouldn't display the number on incoming calls. I was just hoping that the international dialing assist option with help when I go abroad.

Does anyone have an update on this? My dealer is still waiting to hear from their technical team
When I spoke to my contact at Lexus Australia last month he said that he too was waiting for a response from Lexus in Japan but I got the impression from speaking to him to "not hold my breath"!
Apart from leaving the phone turned on make sure bluetooth is also enabled. My wife often disables bluetooth to increase battery life and she often gets caught out when getting in the car, realising that her bluetooth is off and when she turns it on and connects to the car notices all her contacts have been zapped![]()
