I wish on the NAV models the little pop-down screen that shows up when you're not on the Audio screen would display the title, artist, and stuff when you're playing your iPod and switching songs. It just shows track # and playlist.

I just wanted to say that I did it.
After a couple months of contemplating on it and getting estimates of $250-$350 I just said F it I'll do it myself. Spent about 3 hours today on it.
Took out the center console, got under there to the harness that connects into the USB/AUX jack. Ripped it apart to reveal the wiring beneath (easier said than done).
There are 4 wires hooking into the USB jack; RED, BLACK, PURPLE, BROWN.
I took my USB extender cable that I had already cut the end off of and spliced like so;
RED - RED
BLACK - BLACK
PURPLE - WHITE
BROWN - GREEN
and it worked
Now my cabin feels clean without any messy iPod hanging around where it shouldn't be. My whole driving experience has improved (I know I'm crazy) and the butt dyno says I gained 45whp. I'm upset that Lexus has it out in the open to begin with, but in a way now that it's all said and done, I feel pretty cool being the only CT with 2 USB ports (1 hidden)
Can't really tell for certain but check here :

Peek at 86190C - looks like it's Part No 8619048030
ADAPTER ASSEMBLY, STEREO JACK, NO.1
I'd check out options like Jedi767's below though. Perhaps an adaptor to plug into the bottom of the socket, allowing a second USB socket to be put elsewhere.
Thanks for the info, will check it out!
My thoughts are: A keep the "stock" look without splicing any wires by getting another one of these, disconnecting the harness from the existing jack & connect the new one under the cup holder. Then run a standard USB extender from there to the storage box. Or B pop the existing one out, replace it with a (slightly modified) standard Lexus switch blank; otherwise the same as A.
Jedi's mod is great, I'm just trying to avoid cutting wires if possible. His wired-OR approach allows you to use either jack (but not both) which is nice. In my case I will only ever need one jack, and like most of us, would've preferred in in the storage box.. So I don't mind only having one jack under the armrest & a dead original jack. I could always reverse the process if necessary by reconnecting the stock jack to the harness.
Sure sound like the right part:
Lexus Part Number: 86190-0E030 - Lexus ADAPTER ASSY, STEREO
But at $100USD, Jedi's mod is looking better!![]()
Has anyone else done this? The "leather" side parts came off quite easily. I broke the tips of my fingernails off trying to pull the console off. It just will not budge. There isn't even any wiggle room on mine. It is as if the two pieces are screwed together. Anyone have any hints on how they managed?

I picked up a plastic scraper from Home Depot, inserted in the back of the console and it popped right out. I then soldered a chopped USB extension cable into the wiring harness and now have a hidden secondary USB port. Not fun but worth the end result.

Can you be more specific. Where under the console did you insert the plastic scrapper? what popped out and how easy was it to push back in. Did the whole console come up or just the leather strip on top of the console? Thank you for this great advice. I have been following this for a long time and this appears to be the best advice,
