Same intake as the current 3rd gen Injen intake for the Prius.

I just got the intake installed today with Matt's help ("help" is too much, I just kinda watched from afar). Big thanks to Matt for paving the way with awesome mods and helping me big time. The intake is pretty awesome. The struggling sound when you push the car on freeway on-ramps and from stop light is reduced severely. Instead, you get a deeper, throaty sound that is really cool.
I was worried that the hybrid quietness would go away, but as Matt says, the intake sound is only there when the gas engine is used. I can still sneak up to the red light or around parking lots. I do hear the engine noise a little more, even when accelerating slowly, but the sound is nice.
I will definitely update on MPG. I dont drive too aggressively and I'm getting around 45 MPG (60% freeway, 40% local) prior to the intake.
Hey Dblu! Glad that more people are getting on board with this mod!! Did you opt for the stainless steel or black?
Definitely interested in your MPG. Will likely be hitting up Matt for help installing my intake after my 5000 service.

Yeah naisatoh,
Matt is great. I got the stainless steel, but I didn't even know that injen made a black one. I'll update the mpg for my next take to get a good number. I'll try to drive normal too. Haha.
I can possibly get a slight discount from Injen. I'll even install it for free for you! Takes about 30 minutes or so.

I was looking under the hood today and saw that there is quite a bit you have to take off in order to fit this in there. do you have any instructions on how to get this off without damaging any of the parts. I want to be able to put the stock intake back on when I take it in for service.
Ya, I got it done yesterday in about 20 min. It was really easy. I am just not used to new cars. All the cars I have worked on have been old and don't have computers running anything.
Has anyone had any trouble with warranty? Is Lexus voiding the warranty when you install this or will they let it slide?
